Privacy notice

Which data Cucinario collects, why, where they are stored and how you can delete them.

Updated on

This page explains directly which data Cucinario processes. It is written to be read, not to be filed.

In short: we do not sell your data, we do not show advertising and we do not use your recipes for purposes other than showing them to you.

Who is the data controller

The data controller is Harikesh Singh, a natural person, developer of Cucinario. Full contact details are in the Legal notice.

For any request regarding your data you can write to support@cucinario.app.

What data we collect

If you sign up for the waiting list from the website We collect your email address and the language you chose. We also store an encrypted, non-reversible version of your IP address, used only to limit form abuse. The plain IP address is never saved.

If you use the app

  • Account: if you sign in with Apple or Google we receive an identifier and, if you authorize it, an email address. We do not receive your password.
  • Imported recipes: the link you share and the recipe that results. They are used to create and show you the recipe, and for nothing else.
  • Technical data: information about app errors (without the content of your recipes) and aggregated usage statistics.

We do not collect your contacts, your location or your photos, except for the single image you choose to frame when you import a recipe from a photo.

Why we process them

Data Purpose Legal basis
Waiting list email Notify you once on launch day Consent
Account Synchronize your recipes across your devices Performance of a contract
Links and recipes Create the recipe you requested Performance of a contract
Errors and statistics Fix the app's issues Legitimate interest

Where they are stored

Your account, your recipes and your files are stored on infrastructure located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).

Transfers outside the European Union

To derive a recipe from a video or a photo, the content necessary for extraction is sent to a provider of automatic language processing whose servers may be located in the United States.

In practice:

  • Only what is necessary for the extraction is transmitted: the text, the audio and the frames of the content you chose to import.
  • Your name, your email or your account identifier are not transmitted.
  • The content is not used to train artificial intelligence models.
  • The transfer is carried out on the basis of the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

If you prefer not to use this feature, you can enter recipes manually: manual entry does not involve any transfer.

How long

  • Waiting list email: until the launch, then deleted within six months or sooner if you request it.
  • Recipes and account: as long as you keep the account. When the account is deleted the data are removed within 30 days.
  • Technical data: maximum 14 days.

Who we share data with

Only with the providers necessary to make the service work: cloud infrastructure, subscription management, error collection and usage statistics. Each processes the data on our behalf and cannot use them for their own purposes.

We do not sell your data to anyone and we do not do targeted advertising.

Your rights

You can request at any time to access your data, correct them, export them or delete them, and you can withdraw consent. Write to support@cucinario.app: we respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your country.

Cookies

The site does not use profiling cookies and has no advertising tracking tools. For this reason you will not find a cookie banner: there is no need for one.

Changes

If we change anything substantial we update the date at the top of this page and, for relevant changes, we notify you in the app.
